Paul Breaux does consulting in Solar Energy Design and Optical Physics.
His education includes a B.S. in Physics from the University of Texas at Arlington and M.S. in Optical Physics from the University of Arkansas.
More specifically, Mr. Breaux consults with those who want a more energy efficient building as well as a healthy indoor living environment. He has experience in Environmental Science and is knowledgeable about designing to be in harmony with the local environment and climate. He also does home tours for demonstration purposes.
Mr. Breaux has over 10 years experience in research in Optical Engineering. He has studied various aspects of solar energy for over 20 years. He designed and built a self-sufficient solar house “Chez Soleil” which he has lived in since 1996. This house was off-grid for 12 years.
Mr. Breaux has taught “Solar Home Design” (a UT informal class) for over 12 years. He has also presented seminars at Texas State University, the Renewable Energy Roundup and at Austin Community College. In August 2009 he was a presenter for “The Solar Course for Architects, Engineers, and Contractors”. This was a continuing education credit course sponsored by Half-Moon, LLC.
He has been an active member of TXSES (Texas Solar Energy Society) for over 20 years and was a board member during 1999-2000. He has presented and published papers at the 1998 and 2003 national ASES (American Solar Energy Society) conferences concerning the performance and efficiency of “Chez Soleil”.
